The Indian market opened weak on last day of the week , but in closing stages, there was a spurt in prices of a few pivotals-mainly in financial and infrastructure sectors. As we write this, the Nifty and the Sensex are trading 1.5 per cent higher than the previous closing, and more than 3 per cent higher than the day's lows. It appears that the local institutions have now started bargain hunting in right earnest, and if that is true, the market may see some more volatility but also a sharp spurt as short positions get covered. |
