Following the reduction in excise duty announced on Tuesday afternoon, two tyre majors, Ceat and Apollo Tyres announced price cuts by evening, saying that they believed in passing on the benefits to the consumers. This is certainly good news, as the moves individually may not be very significant, but collectively with other measures may lead to uplift of consumer sentiment.
